Where SeaData's data comes from

SeaData combines many weather, wave, tide and measurement sources. This page lists, per source, who is behind it, what it measures or computes, how fine (resolution), for which area and how often the data refreshes.

Which model wins where? For wind and wave, SeaData picks the best model per position in this order: first whether the model covers the spot at all, then resolution (finer wins), then a penalty for proximity to the model edge (within ~25 km of the edge a model counts for less, as there it is driven by its neighbour rather than its own physics).
